Yes, we provide well trained teams of licensed and insured professional movers that come equipped with the tools and experience to disassemble, reassemble and transport/store items designed to come apart for moving and storage.
Our business model is geared toward providing climate-controlled storage so our units are manufactured for that purpose. They are delivered to your location in a weather-protected Zippy Shell trailer and are left at your location for 2 to 3 days for loading and unloading. If additional time is needed, then this is usually not a problem, just let us know. If an extended on-site stay is necessary beyond 5 days then there may be a small fee.
Yes, we offer a full range of packing supplies including boxes, wrapping material, tape, bubble wrap, and mattress covers and even heavy-duty moving blankets to protect your belongings. We even offer full-service packing, and crating services, where we will bring all of the materials for your move.
Zippy Shell Houston provides local and long-distance moving and climate controlled portable storage solutions within a 400 mile radius of the Houston area. Since our facility is located in the Cypress area many of our local straight moves are in the Houston, Katy, Sugar Land, Cypress, The Woodlands, Spring and Copperfield areas, but we have excellent service out to all of Texas, Louisiana and even into Oklahoma and Arkansas. Just request a quote and we will be glad to give you some pricing for whatever move or storage need you might have.
Our prices are typically 20–45% LESS expensive than our competitors. We can do this because our business model is built around providing climate controlled storage, not on-site containers. Our units are manufactured to be stored inside of a climate controlled storage facility once they are loaded so they do not need to be manufactured to withstand all of the environmental conditions. Our monthly storage fees can be as low as $149.00/mo. Also, because we a classified as a storage service and not a container rental company, we are not required to charge sales tax on our service.
Yes! Our storage facility is equipped with structural climate-control, which utilizes architectural design, proper insulation, and controlled air flow to naturally stabilize the storage environment. While not mechanical, it maintains a temperature up to 20 degrees below the ambient outdoor temperatures which in Houston can exceed 100 degrees during the summer. During colder weather that we also experience in Southeast Texas we have heating units inside of the facility to protect our customers belongings.
Our storage units are delivered inside of a proprietary Zippy Shell trailer that is street legal with a license plate, will fit into a single parking space and can be legally placed anywhere that a car can go. The only restriction is that 12' overhead clearance is required. Additionally, since our units are not left for a long-term, they are usually back at our facility before anyone would even notice that they were there :-).
Since our units are delivered inside of a Zippy Shell trailer, they are street legal and can be placed anywhere that a car can fit including a single parking space. The only restriction is that they do need 12' clearance for height and additional room on the side and behind the unit is needed so that the doors can open and for maneuverability for loading and unloading.
After you book we bring a storage unit to your address and leave it on-site for a couple hours or a couple of days for loading/unloading. We can place the unit anywhere that you can put a car. After loading we pick up the unit and store it in our local climate-controlled storage facility. We can even provide licensed and unsured movers to professionally load the unit. Maximizing the capacity of the unit and ensuring that the items are well protected to any length of storage.
